Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, the company was initially involved with the supply of Scottish food products and unique giftware and the evolved into weaving and supplying tartan plaid fabrics and merchandise in worsted wool and non-wool fabrics. The two brand names established by GSI are The Scottish Grocer® and The Scottish Weaver® both of which are registered trademarks. Great Scot International® is the US distributor for a number of Scottish mills specializing in tartan plaid apparel. GSI is also the sole importer for the legendary Scottish soda called (Barr's Irn-Bru) - otherwise referred to as Scotland's other national drink.
